You Have The Power To Create Anything You Desire

The opportunity September gives us… 🍁

As I was walking with my family along the waterfront this past weekend, the waves quietly lapping to the left of us, the leaves starting to fall off the trees to the right of us… I took a deep breath in and said to my husband, “I’m really happy.”

This time of year has this effect on me. After the height of summer’s final blast of heat and sweat, that first day where the temperature drops at least ten degrees with no sign of going back up, is such a deep balm on the soul.

The magic of September (and especially post-Labor Day September) runs so much deeper than any astrology meme, pumpkin spice treat, or fall tbr list that we see circulating online this month. Don’t get me wrong, I love ALL OF THESE things very much and soak them in, but there is such a depth to this month that I’m inviting us into as well…

If we want to look at it astrologically, this month is mostly ruled by Virgo, represented as The Virgin. Now, we all think of a virgin as representing innocence and inexperience, but the origins of The Virgin are actually quite different. The Virgin used to represent independence and sovereignty, and I feel this rings true. This is what is at the heart of the energy of Virgo. And what is at the heart of the energy of September.

Spring and summer have a buzzy energy to them - heat building, youth, maiden, bright eyes and rosy cheeks, play, laughter, fresh dripping fruit, sensual, projects in their infancy, gatherings and collaborations and parties and celebration…

And September begins the descent from all the go, go, go, play, play, play external electricity into the solitary contentment of the internal worlds. Before we can meet the veil of Halloween and the death of the year and renewal into the new, we must quiet ourselves internally, and come back into our own strength, power, and vision.

That is exactly what September affords us… a chance to drop the external noise and come back into our own. Look at where we’ve been so far this year, where it is we had intended to be, and recalibrate after the jovial celebrations of summer.

The energy of The Virgin in this season reminds us that we have all of the power within ourselves to create anything it is we desire, we simply must stay true to who we are and what we want our life to be oriented towards.

This month also holds the back-to-school, teacher/student, meticulous and organized energies that we’ve come to associate it with, and yes, it’s a great time to pull out your planners and make sense of what you’re creating in the world, but I invite us all to do so this year while staying deeply connected to the independent and sovereign visionary within, who knows that you are capable of creating anything you wish to create, in all areas of your life.

So, take a moment this week, sit down and ask yourself:

🍁 What did I imagine myself doing in 2024? Accomplishments, goals, desires, life changes… what did I see for myself at the start of this year?

🍂 What has changed within that vision? What adjustments would I like to make to my vision at this point of the year?

🌹 Where did I perhaps stray from the vision during the summer? What fell off for me in terms of my routines and habits to get me where I’d like to be? What adjustments can I make this month to recalibrate?

🍃 What would I like to achieve by the end of this year? Between now and December 31st, what are my biggest, most exciting/achy desires?
