How To Make Space To Receive What You Want
The difference between active vs. passive waiting.
I’ve been watching this home renovation show, Christina on the Coast (it’s on Max) with my husband after baby girl goes to bed (we love it for the southern Cali vibes 🥲 and the design inspo, as we’re slowly updating our house).
Christina kicks off the show by renovating her bff’s house (when she was single), and now, several seasons later, her bff is engaged.
As they were chatting wedding planning over a glass of wine, Christina commented on how they had started the manifestation process of her bff finding her partner during the renovation, when they decided to upgrade her bathroom vanity from a single sink to double sinks, to let the universe know she was ready to find her partner.
“YES, THAT’S TOTALLY IT!” I thought as we were watching.
THAT is the difference between active vs. passive waiting.
THAT is the difference between making space for your goals and manifestations to come to life vs. staying in the land of ‘hoping, dreaming, and someday…’
Now, I’m not saying spend more money than you have, or rent a place you can’t afford, or make any ill-advised financial moves lol… but!
Actively waiting for your goals to come to fruition by making space for them in your life now, is a form of art, and one that we can take pleasure in while we are waiting.
If we are renovating our home, and we plan to live there for the foreseeable future, AND we would like to call in our partner, we can choose to keep one sink in our bathroom and keep things as is (aka what one single person needs to live comfortably), OR we can take the opportunity to open ourselves up to that future vision where we share our bathroom with our partner, and make space for them in our home NOW.
If we want to move, but we don’t know how or when that’s going to happen AND our current house is a total disaster, with cluttered junk everywhere, art not hung up, and too many projects started with not enough finished, we can continue to live in disarray and just passively wait for something to happen (and probably stay frustrated). OR we can start to declutter our home now, clearing out all the cabinets and cupboards of everything we no longer wish to take with us, hang up the art that’s been sitting there for a year, and make the home ready for movement (ready to show to others who might want to live there and ready for you to pack it on up and hit the road)!
Active waiting keeps us in the energy of what we desire and keeps us taking action towards our goal.
And energy + action is the secret sauce to getting everything we want out of life.
So my question for us today is: where in our lives are we passively waiting for something to happen? And how can we turn that around into actively making space for it to show up?
